What to do after you H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) it hard.

Boot campers, we certainly went all out yesterday. So today is recovery day, resist the temptation to veg on the couch all day. Here are a few suggestions to optimize your recovery: 1. Keep it moving, but with less intensity. Movement helps to release lactic acid to ease your muscle soreness. 2. Do something different. Cross-training is the best way to avoid injuries and to keep your body from becoming complacent. Keep your body guessing. Just make sure you don't go overboard. Remember, you are still in recovery mode! 3. Luxuriate! Don't feel guilty about taking the time to sleep (this is when your body repairs muscle tissue and you get the definition you have been working hard to achieve). Choose your nutrition wisely and massage, soak in epsom salt, but keep up your hydration. A very generous client gifted me with these epsom salts and boy did it come in handy after our brutal H.I.I.T. session. And now I am rejuvenated and ready for another day of movement with intention. So, enjoy your recovery but do so wisely.
